Collection: DJS Citrus

It is an all family affair at DJS Garden Fresh Citrus; the business depends on the support of our whole family.

Mum, Joy’s contribution is the lemon infused jams and sauces, citrus marmalades and variety of citrus cakes and loaves. And, by customer request, she has also included several gluten-free baked products as well.

Father, Dave takes care of the freshly squeezed, 100% pure orange juice, which is prepared and chilled the night before the market. Juice is available in 1 litre bottles or by the glass at the market. It’s a great, healthy drop – Free tastings at the market!

Daughter, Julie is DJ’s ever-available graphic designer, and she has a real flair for baking and has developed their citrus gourmet collection. Her speciality is creating a variety of fine biscuits, small cakes and sweet treats with a citrus influence using our fresh citrus fruit.

Eldest daughter, Tanya, has added to our citrus gourmet products by creating the citrus cake truffles on a stick – something fun for the young at heart.

Son, Darren, and his wife, Nicola and Tanya’s husband, Todd are also a fantastic help in preparing the various fruit packs, loading vehicles for market and being available to run the stall on market days.

The family property based in Nildottie was previously owned by Joy’s parents, and since 1995; the next family generation purchased it and operates it today.

The 7.5 acre orchard has some 60 year old trees, with some new varieties being planted as the older trees finish. New varieties such as Lemonade trees, ruby grapefruit and blood fruit trees make for an interesting new mix to the orchard.

Selling their fresh orange product range, along with the freshly squeezed orange juice, the DJS citrus stall is very popular with orange lovers. The varieties of oranges include Navels, Valencia, and mandarins, Imperials, Grapefruit, Limes and Tangellos.

DJS also do a range of dried apricots and dried pears.

The whole family at DJS is very passionate about growing quality citrus in their family orchard, and are delighted to have the opportunity to bring fresh from the orchard direct to the local community at the weekly farmer’s market.
